It is illegal to drop animals off after hours.
We are proud to have served Logan County and our animals since 1989. Our main goal is to improve the lives of companion animals in our community and find permanent and loving adoptive homes for the cats and dogs in our care.
We welcome your partnership in caring for our community's animals. Adopt a pet today!
The shelter has been having a upgrade the past few weeks. Please over look the yards as we have not got them done yet. The shelter has added slabs for all the outside dogs so that the weather will not keep them wet now. We will be adding toppers soon to all outside kennels and the inside will have new cages and some bigger inside kennels.
It's that time again when the weather is going to start heating up. Here are some tips to keep your animals safe and happy.
1. Make sure your animals have plenty of shade.
2. Water before and after work.
3. Have shelter in raining weather.
4. If possible put your animals in doors when temperature is above 90 degrees. (Heat Stroke)
Warring signs of heat stroke are lack of movement, dehydration, seizers. In the event of heat stroke DO NOT rapidly cool, slowly spray with water and try and cool body, and get to nearest vet hospital ASAP!
Check out the new animal control page for up to date information on all animal releated problems and services in Logan County.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We need volunteers to join us with help at the shelter and fundraisers! We have a lot going on and need pet lovers everywhere to join us. Email us through our Volunteer page, or call us at 270-726-2186
We just wanted to inform everyone that Shelter Director Kathy Maddox and Humane Society President Chris Cooper will be on WRUS 610 AM every Month on the first wednesday. Tune in to learn what we try and get done at the Shelter, transporting and you can also call in and speak your concerns and or questions that you may have.
This months radio information will be on the upgrades at the shelter. If you have came by the last few weeks you have seen where the yard is tore up and the outside being very cluttered. We have place slabs for the animals now which will keep the shelter and animals a lot cleaner.
