Learn How Rescues Work Minimize

"Rescue," of course, can be defined broadly.  The Logan County Humane Society partners with animal rescue groups in the eastern and northern United States to actively find our animals loving homes.   Rescue organizations operate as a network with animal shelters and eager families who may adopt or foster a pet.  Many organizations, out of necessity, devote themselves to one species or breed.

We actively seek and partner with rescue organizations to find homes for our animals who may not be finding a home in a Logan County, or a nearby community.

Rescue organizations are a key part of helping the Logan County Humane Society achieve our "no-kill" goals!

Rescue Program

The Logan County Humane Society's animal rescue truck is a 100 capacity transport vehicle That has A/C and is very well secured. We use our vehicle  3-4 times a month to transport our animals to different parts of the United States. On average each rescue trip cost the Shelter $650.00 in fuel, on the time we do not drive we must pay a crate fee to the other shelter that is driving that week. Our average out going count for rescue varies but normally stays around the 15-50 animals per trip.

Our rescue truck is drove by volunteers who dedicate thier time to saving the animals in Logan County. Our Rescue program was set up to keep the Logan county Humane Society a NO KILL SHELTER......and the movement of great animals to great and forever homes.
